Beef exports grew 10% in June, when compared to May, reaching US $ 512 million in revenues, according to data from Brazilian Association of Meat Exporters (ABIEC). In volume, the result was 123,287 tons, a 9% increase over the previous month. These results confirm that June was, so far, the month with the best performance this year.
Noteworthy are the results recorded in the meat category in natura, which had an increase of 11%, considering the comparison with June of the previous year. Last month, shipments totaled 100,223 tons and generated US $ 422 million in revenue.
Meanwhile, the sale of processed beef increased by 9.68% in June, with shipments of 7,866 tons, compared to 7,171 shipped in May. The revenue obtained in this category was US $ 47 million, which represents an increase of 12.35%.
Considering the retrospective of the last six months, it is noticeable an evolution of the billing with Brazilian beef exports, sustained mainly by a sequence of increases in average prices of the product.
Hong Kong was the main destination of Brazilian beef exported in June, with a total of 30,790 tons, up 9.12% when compared to the volume traded in May. In the ranking of the main importers, Hong Kong is followed by China, which had a 9.61% increase in export volume, and by the European Union, with a decline of 1.1%.
ABIEC expects the results of the coming months to remain positive. With the application of corrective measures, defined in conjunction with the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (MAPA), it is expected that the US market will be reopened for exports of Brazilian beef in natura. ABIEC also remains focused on ensuring and expanding the Brazilian presence in strategic markets and initiating negotiations with other nations.
